What is Black Seed?
Black cumin (Nigella sativa) is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the Ranunculaceae family. The genus Nigella contains about 20 species of annual herbs, the most popular of which is Nigella sativa L. It is native to the Mediterranean region. Of which, 12 species are widely grown in Turkey and known as ‘’siyah kimyon, bereket tanesi, siyah tohum’’ locally.
What is Thymoquinone?
Thymoquinone has attracted noteworthy scientific attention for its high biological activity and low systemic toxicity. Thymoquinone is the main active phenolic compound from the volatile oil of Nigella sativa L. seeds and has high antioxidant properties. In in vitro and in vivo studies, thymoquinone has suggested to have many beneficial effects such as antiinflamatory, antimicrobial, and anticancer effects.
How Black Seed Oil obtained?
The oils are obtained from black seeds with the cold pressing method, so chemical changes are prevented and nutritional values are preserved.
What is Cold Press?
One of the methods used in the production of high quality vegetable oils. Black cumin oil has been extracted from seeds using this method.
The temperature doesn’t exceed 30-35 C, so bioactive compounds are not damaged.
Who should take Black Seed Oil?
11 years old and above can consume.
